What We Fund

Dudley Foundation: Fast Facts on What We Fund

Our mission is to aggressively seek and support community development activities and programs that enrich the lives of people residing in the City of Wausau, Marathon County, and the State of Wisconsin.

Since our inception, we have donated more than $4 million, funding 617 grants in 14 different community development categories.

The Foundation meets four times a year—March, June, September, and December—to consider grant requests.

The Dudley Foundation was established in 2000 with an original gift of $8 million from entrepreneur and philanthropist Richard D. Dudley. The current asset base of the Dudley Foundation is $7.6 million.

The Dudley Foundation initiated the Central Wisconsin Family Foundation Alliance in 2004. The Alliance hosts educational sessions on family philanthropy, encourages networking among family foundation participants, and explores collaborative grant making opportunities.

Dudley Foundation board members attend educational conferences through the Council on Foundations, Philanthropy Roundtable, and Exponent Philanthropy to maintain a high degree of professionalism and keep abreast of issues impacting the philanthropy field.
